Are you ready to go back yet?

School is coming up quickly.  Be prepared!  Now is a good time to start purchasing notebooks, pencils, and general school supplies.  And even though it may not sound appealing, now is a good time to start adjusting your schedule.  Try going to bed and waking up an hour earlier.  That way, you won't be sleeping in class! 

It's also a great time to go through your closet and organizing the clothes that fit into cute outfits for school.  Ask your mom to donate the clothes that don't fit you anymore.  (Many cities have second-hand stores that accept donations; just ask around!)

Q.  How often should I cut my hair?

A.  Typically a cut will last 4-6 weeks, and then starts to lose it's shape.

Q.  I'm going to a dance and I want my hair to look good, but I can't get to the salon... can I do it myself?

A. We recommend separating your hair into 3 layers, top, middle and lower.  Use clips to hold your top 2 layers and begin working with the lower layer.  Work your way up to the top.  Separating it helps to keep a big job in check!

Q.  I use mousse to add volume to my hair, but it's not working.  Am I doing it wrong?

A.  To give your hair volume with mousse, apply it to your roots and then pull hair up and out as you dry it.

Q.  My bangs are fried - I blow dry my hair and it looks singed - help!

A.  You NEED to come into the salon for a restructuring conditioner.

Q.  My hairbrush sucks!  My friends use round brushes, so I started using one too.  But I can't make my hair look good with it.

A.  If you have longer hair, use a flat paddle brush or a larger-barrelled round brush.  For shorter hair, use a round brush with a smaller diameter.

DIETS??
Why Diets Don't Work!
 
Sure --- If you take in fewer calories than you use (usually by eating less and exercising more) you will lose weight.  BUT, to be successful, a good diet has to be all about a permanent change in eating habits you can live with - forever.

So the latest grapefruit, low this, high that diet may help you lose a few pounds, but do you want to be eating that way forever??
